This Ram's-head Lady's-slipper (Cypripedium arietinum) is an endangered species in Minnesota. The plant is typically only 3-9 inches tall. If you use a little imagination, the "pouch" looks a bit like the head of a charging ram. 40D, Canon 180 f/3.5 macro, 1/13, f/8, ISO 400, tripod, mirror lock, cable release, natural light. I removed a few bits of spider web from the plant in post-processing. Comments are welcome.

Great focus and detail, Steve! I love everything about this. Strong color and contrast yet it appears to be just as I'd see it in the wild. Lovely image.
