I shot this wide open. The light part of the background is the sky in between some trees and bushes in my backyard. The effect I see is that it appears the flowers are letting off some steam. I shot this with a Canon 5D, 100 mm F2.8 lens. The Aperture was F2.8, exposure was 1/1000 sec and the ISO was 320.

Interesting it is !!! I like the design and over all feel Just having trouble withe the tall in focus leaf? Maybe if the camera was pointed more to the right ... but I also like the partial view of the other flower only.

With a little re framing can work in a big way, like light idea very much !!!

I wish you had focused on the center of the flower rather than the forground. Do you have any others from that day? Love the idea of the steam :)

Hello Fabs,

Unfortunately I don't have any other shots. Unfortunately I was running short on time. These suggestions have given me some good ideas.

Very different vision, Gordon! I also think this would have worked better with the focus on the flower's center and if you had a bit more of the flower included in the bottom of the frame. I do like the transition and the overall lighting in this.

I agree with Fabs.
