3 Week Old Elk

I ran into this great nursery herd on the outskirts of Rocky Mountain National Park, 28 cows, and 15 elk calves. The trouble is they were right along the road and rarely became isolated. What do you think of this crop? I would have liked more room on the top but there was a tree and a lot of elk legs.

The crop works just fine for me. Great light, catchlights in both eyes and good eye contact. A terrific portrait of this youngster.
