Love the bird, the SH, the foam, and your having the bird well back in the frame. If it were mine, I would take a bunch off the bottom. Where and when?

SH?

Yes, was wondering what others would think about the position in the frame.
Original capture had bird high in the frame which led me in this direction and
it kind of grew on me. I suspect I may be in the minority though.

Where and when?
Morro Strand State Beach in mid-March.

Hi Mike. Normally, I like to see more of the legs on these large shorebirds, but in this case I think all the foam in the water adds a lot of interest to the image. Nice pose, colors, and detail. Well done on the whites. I could see taking a little off the bottom as an alternate crop.

SH = sharpness. Ah, Morro Bay. Been there!

The bird is near the left frame edge, i.e., back in the frame. If you take half off the bottom the bird is still near the left frame edge, i.e., still back in the frame.

Does that make sense?
