Miles of road keep us apart
Bound together inside my heart

The distance feels too much to bear
I need you now but you're not there

I close my eyes and see your face
In my dreams we fill the same space

I feel your touch as though you're near
You're out of reach, get closer dear

Your eyes retreat away from me
You're fading fast and I can't see

The morning rays just broke our sight
Good bye my love- until tonight

I cannot believe the deepness of your poem Denise. I admire it very much. Superb writing, and the image is so fitting..... so well fitting. it just leaves me speech and breathless. It makes me sad as I read through though, I feel the pain inside 'the writer's' heart from afar. :(

Terrific Denise. The content, the structure, the format - everything works.

I feel like I'm reading a formerly unpublished passage from Romeo and Juliet.

Except I think they had moats or something, rather than suspension bridges.

What? I am GLAD you did. It is word art and photo art all in one.

Fantastic combination, Denise. This is one of those times where the poetry and the photo make each even stronger.

Profound is the word that comes to mind......very well done Denise! Haven't been here in a while but you have definitely been writing some wonderful stuff and picking really great images to go with them. You should definitely consider putting them in a book!
