From last Sunday's outing to the Fruit and Spice Park found an assassin working on a beetle. These bugs don't like being out in the open and are difficult to reach, just got this one.

Comments welcome and much appreciated

Great focus & comp! ISO 1600?! I see no grain on it. Wow. Natural light?

With all the assassin bugs there, they need to rename the place: Fruit & Spice, and things that aren't nice, Park

Bob, that is hysterical!

Alfred, what a great moment you captured! I love the angle even though it obstructs a little bit of the bug. It offers the viewer a really intimate look into the bug world. Nicely done!

Excellent capture here Alfred. I love teh clours of these bugs as well as those of the unfortunate victim.

I've not tried adding my teleconverter to my Sigma 100mm Macro but I'll definitely plan on experimenting soon.

A very cool behavioral shot, Alfred. Nice lighting and just the right amount of DOF. Wish our assassin bugs were this colorful, but they tend to be rather drab by comparison - maybe that helps them to sneak up of their prey items. :)

Al I really, really like this one!! I like the way the leaves enclose and frame it. Great action!

The colors and the framing are the best part of this picture. I saw the 1600 ISO. This tells me I should try some high ISO shots on my 5D.
