This is a sequel to "One Open, and One Opening" of 6/21. This is Paphiopedilum Shireen, a cross of Paphiopedilum philippinense X Paphiopedilum glaucophyllum. If you compare this to the first image you will notice the inevitable color shift that occurs with maturing blossoms. Window light with a white card reflector was used to light this photo. The Callus is naturally waxy and glossy and not flash reflection. Hope you like my image. C and C welcome, I'm here to learn - John

I love what the white card did for the BG lighting, John. It really pulled it up and brightened it up! Nicely done...great details all the way throughout the image (which, on orchids, is always a big deal!)

The composition on this picture is awesome. My only criticism, and its a small on, is the leave that is partially covering the green heart on the right.

I love your gorgeous Orchids. Orchids have not been a favorite flower for me, but you are opening my eyes to their beauty. Your photographs isolate one or two flowers and show them at their best. Beautiful color and detail.
