Out this morning photographing birds and found some spider webs Like to photograph them using strong back light The most difficult part for me is finding a pleasing bg Working from a board walk has its limitations !!! Tried some stopping way down but the bg was not pleasing

Comments welcome and much appreciated !!!

The backside in Anhinga Trail The little part that branches to the left and leads to the gazebo Lots of those things Just in difficult positions !!!! If you wan to get them do so fairly early !!!

Hey Alfred, spider webs can be tough as you would like a little more DOF to bring all that interesting stuff in focus, but those higher f-stops which as you found, clutter the BG. Nice focus on the webs center, and the soft edges give it an abstract look.

Hi Al, I often come across these little beauties when photographing the dew laden insects. When I finally get around to capture some spider webs the wind has come up and end of story....!!! I think the DOF in your image here has created an intersing composition - as Mike says somewhat resembling an abstract piece of art!!

Hi
Works for me, I like the tunnel like effect. This could have perhaps been enhanced by throwing the right side more OOF - but it looks pretty cool as seen
All the best

Hi Al! I don't mind the background at all - but I would have liked more DOF on the left side which I'm sure would have been tough to accomplish! I have used a composite focus technique to marry two images together to give me more DOF.

Being new to macro I am downsizing from the 100 2.8 to the 65mm and on the very odd occasion I use my 300 F4 with macro rings but a 600! that is some macro lens.

I love the image, looks like wet lace.
