Good job on capturing the extended wing Chris, and like the texture of the water. Well captured.

I assume from the look of the water this is a pan and great job of focus as it flew parallel to you.

I like the wing position, BG and eye contact. I might sharpen the head a bit more. The light looks quite warm, does the sun rise that late this time of year? You made this around 9 AM, right?

Thanks for the comments. Yep Axel 8:52 AM. The sun rise at 7:10 and in area were I took this there are trees and we only get good light from about 8:15

Hi Chris, I like how you captured the action here but there. Too bad the eye ain't sharp and that you tried to fix it by oversharpening it. I don't know this bird, but the beak seems a bit oversaturated, taking away all the attention from the rest of the photograph. Perhaps you could tone it down just a tad?

Nice panning technic and it is always hard to get it tack sharp.
Love the vertical lines of the bg.

Good colour, well exposed, pin sharp and nice comp with good wing position.
I think the yellow on the bill is clipped and a there is bit of noise on the wing. Both can be sorted in PP.
