I took the following picture of a male and female Northern Pintail. I know I have always been told "get lower". I couldn't, so I thought I would try a different angle. I hope you like it. The lens was a 100-400L IS.

Model Canon EOS-1D Mark III
Flash Used No
Focal Length 100 mm
Exposure Time 1/400 sec
Aperture f/4.5
ISO Equivalent 400

Interesting angle, John. I like the way you got both male and female together. I am not too fond of the downward angle, but without being able to get low, you didn't have a lot of options. The birds appear a bit soft, particularly the male.

Different and original. I like the shadows and the juxtaposition of the two birds. It bugs me that the eyes look closed. Last two wishes are for a bit off the bottom and that the white triangle was not so close to the male's bill.

later and love, artie

Hi John,
I think, you did a good job in that situation.
I like the pattern and the colours of the image.
