Hi A Maddah,
Welcome to the forum! This is a very difficult scene to capture properly as the sun has to be diffused enough in order to have more detail in the sea. You placed it well in the frame but the rest of the image and the colors aren't strong enough to carry the image overall. You may want to try and bring up some of the darker areas with either levels or curves layers and even a seperate one on the sea to bring out some of the details further. A FG element may have also helped strengthen the composition as now my eye is only drawn to the sun/brightest area which with the clouds is the most interesting and it may have been better to concentrate there. For the next time in the field.....expose directly to the right or left of the sun without including any of it.......that should get you pretty close on the exposure......but be careful to not look directly into the sun!

Roamn summed it up pretty well, but I do like the different take on this type of shot. I definitely thought the moon and night shot before looking at the specs.

Asad,

Since I try these types of images often, they are not easy to pull off as noted above. You can try multiple exposures, one for the dark sun and one for the water (more exposure then the previous) and blend them in your processing program. THis way you can recover some of the detail surrounding the water.
