I'm trying it out on the Wimberly Sidekick, and so far I don't like that option much. It hasn't been a fair test yet so I plan on giving it some time. My trial on the Sidekick ends right after two big trips in March.
I have a Wimberly I that I'll be comparing with, but I was wondering about the Wimberly II as a Sidekick alternative.
Any other ideas?

Hi Jim,
What didnt you like about the SK?
I would highly recommend the Mongoose M3.5. It is perfect for the 2-4. It works like a dream and is about 40% less weight than a WII.

Thanks guys.
What I don't like about the SK is that when I tilt the lens up or down past a certain point it wants to keep going free fall style.
I like the idea that it will either stay where I put it or settle back to level like on the Wimberly.
Maybe someone at the March IPT can show me the Mongoose ;)

We can arrainge that I am sure. There will be a few users there and maybe a loaner head. Make an inquiry with Artie in advance and I am sure he can help you with this.
See you there,
