This is part of the wonderful gardens at the Hearst Castle with a view of one of the guest cottages behind. When it was up and running the gardens had 30 full time people employed to look after them. Now it is seven. Our tour guide said the soil is so good it rich and very loose, you hardly have to dig to plant anything.
There were three guest cottages each about 2500 square feet, opulently decorated inside. Winston Churchil, and too many others to mention stayed there. Anyone famous or currently in the new were guests. When they stayed Hearst was often getting "their story", so he could sell more newspapers. (lighting was not the best in this shot)
