Was approaching a kite which was eating it's prey. The kite eventually flew away but I got this :-) HAd to clone out a few blades of grass beside the bird. :p

Canon 40D with Canon 100-400 IS L
Shot at F8 , 1/1250 sec. ISO 400.

Comments and suggestions are welcome :)

Nice details in the blacks and I like the vert comp. I also like the fact you left more room on the right hand side.

Excellent exposure on the blacks, showing good detail. Lovely pose, and I would maybe take just a bit off the top. Well captured.

Nice exposure on the blacks. I would crop some from the top as mentioned. Also the bird is oversharpened, and the streaks in the BG are distracting , and to a lesser extent, the vertical copyright.

Good exposure control, angle, details and eye contact. BG looks good, too, and I might crop a bit off the top.

Did you clone immediately to the right of the shoulder area? Looks a bit cloned. I love the pose and space around. Well placed in frame. Good exposure and colors. :)

Aditya...liked the repost. But I think it is too close to the right edge. Its always a challenge in vertical portraits when the bird looks sideways. You can try a slightly squarish crop..as in leave the space to the right as-is..just have a little more on the left.

the blades of grass are parallel to the beak...that gives a nice graphical element to it.
