I awake with the hopes of a successful day,
Out of the house and on my way.

Arrive at the location and while setting up my gear,
Thinking how wonderful it is just to be here.

It's getting lighter and my anticipation is growing,
Seeing the golden light and feeling a soft breeze blowing.

In front of a mountain the light is starting to kiss,
My exposure is set carefully as not to miss.

I keep waiting for the light to cover more ground,
Then I heard a loud noise and look around.

Heavy black clouds have suddenly appeared
And then a crack of thunder, I quickly veered

To watch the light quietly disappear
Knowing that tomorrow it will still be here.

Dave, I really like this. This seems to happen to me alot!! Most of the time while on vacation!! It's very nice the way you put it together. :)

I like it, too, Dave. I'd consider cutting the frame off at the bottom right where the tree line begins - I don't think there's enough of the rocky area to be a bonus to this beautiful image.

And you're right...is there anything worse than getting all ready and hearing it start to rain?

My favorite one of yours, Dave...at least until the next one.

"In front of a mountain the light is starting to kiss" - now that's writing. What a line.

Where is this - Jackson?

Just simply terrific.

Hi Lance, I took this in Banff a few years ago as I was leaving the area. It's Mt Edith Klavel.
