George, nice shot but I think it's a chironomid, notice the fuzzy antenna.

I like the dark background and the leaf. I might crop it to a vertical though, as that extra space on the left is not adding much.

Yes, I tend to agree. I cropped it this way to use as a background on my computer. I have a lot of icons on the left side of my computer screen, so it kind of balances out the blank space for my intended use.
