Taken in Kanha National Park, India.

Did clone out a branch (unsuccessfully, most likely) from behind the bird. Sorry for the space on the left, had to eliminate a tree stump.

Techs: EOS 1D Mk2, ISO 400, 600mm at f/5.6 (300 .8 Is with caon 2x tele) , 1/1000, Av, Handheld

C & C is welcome.

Regards,
Kiran

The bird looks great; nice and sharp with great light and good eye contact. The green BG is pretty. However I find the parts of the perch behind the bird to be significantly distracting. Also I'd like to see the bird placed in the right of the frame. I'll try a repost; check back a little later.

Kiran I am not familiar with this species but I think that the colors are a bit flat. The light is strong but I like the pose of the bird and the neat eye contact. From a compositional point of view I agree with your self critic... more room at the left is necessary and another round of noise reduction to the BG would be great :-)

Super pose, and I like the light in this, especially on the eye. Doug has reposted his suggestions, and they work well.

Very nice image. Agree with Doug on the composition. Maybe his rework is too much modification on this image. I would leave the bg branch as is. A tad of sharpening would be useful.

Beautiful shot, I like both versions.
I don't mind the extra branches in this instance but prefer Doug's crop.
