These guys are not at all common in Southern Ontario so I was very happy to photograph this guy earlier this week. He was in an area with loads of blue-winged warblers and was chasing them around like crazy!!

Camera Model: Canon EOS 50D
Shutter speed: 1/500 sec
Aperture: 8
ISO: 400
Focal length: 500mm + 1.4x

Nice image Glenn. I find this image a bit dark. Went to Photoshop and made a simple adjustment in levels and it is improved a lot while yellow throat did not turned hot.
The pose is very nice.

I am still surprised that you are not fed up of photography at all :D

Nice looking bird, nice BG....agree with Szimi about lightening the image a bit.

Super pose, BKGR, and SH. Place me in the too dark camp. You might wish to lose the stray feather on the top of the head.

Was this a tape job?

Really lovely image Glenn. The light is flat but could be punched up a bit if desired. A bit too tight at the top for my taste.

I wouldn't do anything with the feathers on the head. Many birds show a few tufts of wispy, hair-like feathers at the back of their heads like this one does, and I was going to post something sometime on Avian ID, Behaviour and Nomenclature forum on the subject of whether this might denote age (young have more than older?), or something else.

Another stunner.
Love the open bill and clean BG.

Super pose, and I like the angled perch. Good detail, and you have exposed the colours nicely. I would lighten the eye a bit, and a curve adjustment would work.
