Hi All,
I watched this Kingbird capture several insects from the nearby river, and eat them on this perch. Too bad this was the only image that was in focus:(
Cheers,
Bruce

Super BG, Bruce. Light looks a bit harsh and pity about the perch running up in front of the bird. I would crop some from above and left.

Hi Bruce
Better luck next time sure is a neat looking bird !!! Agree with Tony !! Remember you normally want more room up front than behind the bird !!!

I would suggest to leave more room in fron of the bird, this is not always necessary but in this case it would help the composition, I like the pose and perch but that little broken branch covering the bird's wing is iMO less than ideal, also, fill flash to eliminate shadows would've helped here I think.
Nice pose, BG, detail and colors though.
Congratulations.

A trio of good critiques that covered the major points nicely (and I agree with all of them)! I will add that you exposed this guy nicely, and you timed your photo to coincide with a perfect little head turn. Sharpness looks good too :-)

Nice and sharp Bruce and nice ha and eye contact. BG is pretty neat also. Too bad about that bit of branch. Well done. Dave
