I was working some old DF files for printing when I came across an old favorite and completely reworked the RAW file, hopefully soon I will have some time to get out into the field and create some new images.
I believe this is a female Needham's Skimmer but it could also be a Golden Wing they are extremely difficult to tell apart.

30D, 300f/4 + 1.4TC+ 25mm EXT Tubes, 1/160 at f/10, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered - 1/3, Raw, ISO 100, Tripod, slight crop

Would be a favorite of mine also !!! Really go the bug parallel to maximize the dof !!! Sweet !!!

This is my favorite time of year because I could sit and look at these macro dragonfly images all day! This is lovely, Don. The BG works so well with the colors of the dfly and you really nailed the details on this one. Love the way the perch bends from one corner of the frame to the other. Excellent comp!
