shot taken on river calder near to were I live,did not know until I put on conputer,that when it raised its foot,I caught some water droplets in front of its foot.cannon 40d,400mmcannon prime lens,hand held,1/2000sec,f5.6,iso400.cropped.thanks for comments good or bad.

I like how the sun catches the eye and the raised foot. I find the OOF rocks in the FG a little distracting and would be tempted to crop some of them out; I would also crop a little off the left. I might brighten the bird's body a little too.

The Bg is very distracting in my opinion and from a compositional point of view I think I would crop part of the bottom and top of the image. I like the eye, raised leg and low angle :-)

I like the pose but agree with the points made by Doug and Juan. If the original can stand more of a crop this may be an option.

I like the head turn and walking pose and like Tony's crop suggestion.

thanks for your comments,I like your crop Tony,but if I put your crop on here the size of my upload on here ,it spoils the quality,and I cannot help it,but I have always liked to show a bit more of the habitat the subject is in.thanks
