Wow, Martin, I love this image! The OOF grass really provide great context for this bird. The composition works nicely for this intimate portrait. My eyes are drawn a bit too strongly to the light patch in the upper-left background...might consider greening that up a bit. Excellent work!!

Fantastic image, the light is superb and the extreme low angle highlighted by the out of focus leaves framing the bird just makes the picture. Congrats.

Martin,
I wish I had your artistic vision as this is a beautiful image. I agree with the comments already made on the leaves, and the background is very nice, but a little modification of the upper left would make it even better. Perhaps the head could stand another round of sharpening. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely imagery and a beautiful bird!
I don't think I would sharpen anymore than you have though.

This is great. I love the contrast of the sharp bird and the nicely blurred foilage.

I like this image very much. Great setting, details and eye contact. I agree regarding 'greening' the upper left and might remove the bright patch in the middle of the upper mandible. Keep them coming!

This is beautiful image, very sharp and OOF FG/BG makes it more interesting.
My only suggestion would be to remove the OOF twig/branch just left to the snipe as thats the only sore point.

Lovely OOF grass - frames the bird so nicely and conveys a feeling of secrecy with the bird.
Lovely colours and DOF! Well done!

I like it very much, the comp with the OOF grasses in the FG is great, light, low angle, BG, colors and detail are simply wonderful. COngratulations!

This image has a wonderful feel to it, Martin, for all the reasons noted repeatedly above. If I was to change anything, it would be to tone down or remove the brownish leaf just to the left of the bird's head. Well done.

Terrific use of OOF vegetaion as compositional element. Subject crisp and full of detail. Loving it!

What a beautiful image. I just would mention two of my notes: it is a bit oversharpened, and blacks lost details on crown. Both manageable ;)
