Not sure I like where I'm headed here. After looking at Roman's beautiful artistic floral photos, I dove in. Taking a straight shot I went with a vignette blur.
Canon 5D Mk11, EF 100- 400 f/ 4.5- 5.6 L @ 400 zoom setting with Bogen tripod and super ball head. My exposure was 1/30 sec. @ f/ 5.6 3200 ISO.
Enjoy...
P.S. I don't know about this

I like it. :) It's a simple and elegant effect... the colors all go well together. Well done.

I like it, too, but think if the center were up a little higher the tulip head wouldn't be so clouded by the vignette. I've always understood that the vignette is to draw your eye to the focal point so I think you're a little bit low here. The colors are really beautiful, Charlie...and I definitely think you're on to something!

Charlie, Glad you dove in. I agree with Julie's points and think you created a very pleasing image.

Hey Charles, agree with Jules on the vignette being higher.

It works for me as presented. In fact, I like the partially softer bloom.
