I have been away to the Kruger National Park, thus not being active since thursday. While sorting out my latest trip, here is one from a while back. The BG is OOF grass. Taken at the grounds of the University of Pretoria.

Agree with Ramon on all counts!

Only thing I can see that may have made a minor improvement would be just a tad more DOF.

Lovely portrait Stuart. Sharpness is excellent. Exposure looks perfect, and you got great eye contact. Very nice!

Stuart:

Excellent exposure! You held the whites/bill very well. Like the mother of pearl look to the bill.

This eye is so bright, I wonder if the catchlight adds much? I think the traditional thinking would be to leave it, but this eye is so lively, might look just great without. OK, thats my OOTB thought for the day. :)

Terrific portrait of a bird I know very well. We have a local colony and the are amazing trouble makers and bullies :)
I just love them!

Fabs they also have a supporters club this side of the world but they also attract a lot of abuse from certain quarters. I think they make awesome photograpic subjects.
Not always easy to expose correctly in flight.
Stu I like the detail captured in this portrait and the green OOFBG works well.
I think the colours could be a tad over saturated.
