Watched this one hunt for food and it finally got it's meal for the evening,

I am glad he thinks its yummy!

The light looks like it was pretty soft, but the whites on the top of the head don't show much detail, perhaps some highlight recovery would help.
The head angle is less than ideal, turned back our way would help. sig.

The prey item adds a lot to the story. I would consider removing the flash catchlight.

I would consider cropping in a bit from the left and adding a small amount to the right, not much.

This is a situation where you need to keep an eye on your whites; a little negative EC would have helped here. I would crop significantly from the left and maybe go with a vertical crop; to my eye the bird is placed too far right in the frame and there's nothing visually compelling about the stuff on the left. I agree with Randy's suggestions. Thanks for posting!
