This image was created at the Ding Darling wildlife refuge in Sanibel island, Florida. This reddish egret was returning to roost against the reddish sky.

I like the pose and light shining through the wing feathers. This is one bright BG, I'm not familiar with this kind of light, could it be oversaturated? Maybe a bit NR on the BG, it looks quite noisy.

Graphically stunning. The light coming through the wings is amazing. And talk about wings in the full downstroke position. Wow! I have never seen anythiing similar.

later and love, artie

ps: time to ditch this from your signature: "Somewhere at the lower end of the learning curve as far as bird photography is concerned."

This one sure lights up my screen. Love it for all the reasons mentioned above.

Thank you all for looking and for your comments. Axel, I have indeed increased the contrast and a some orange saturation.
Artie, thanks for your comment, when it comes from you it is time to graduate, I have changed my signature as you suggested, but there is a long way to go still.

Very nice. Looks like a jet fighter returning home. Love the light. The background does seem a bit oversaturated.
