Chris, I like the warm lighting. I am ok with the perch too even though it may be "different". Hard one to crop this - have you tried a more traditional 3:2 landscape?

I like the singing pose, light and eye contact. I agree with Phil that a horizontal crop might work, too, and would selectively sharpen the head more.

Ditto crop. Also looks a bit ovesharpened.

A bit tight but that preety much it, the rest: BG, light, pose, detail and colors look just stunning! Congratulations!

Chris, super pose, and glad you you captured the open beak. Lovely light, with a great OOF BG. Maybe a bit tight on the RHS.

Thanks for all the views and comment. I have tried a landscape crop and it did not work to well as the branch stretch all the way to the left
