Hi to all gals and guys. Still learning with this new subject so want to know if this looks too done, so to speak. I just love these malachite butterflies. Taken with the D300, Nikon 70-300VR with 20mm extension tube, f 13, 1/100, iso 640. PP with NX2, finishing up in CS3 and Focal Point plug in, Thanks for all your comments.:)

I like, it Nancy. I have used Focal Point's light borders too. I may have gone with a wider aperture since the Bfly was parallel to you, of course to the cost of loosing the antennas :)

Very nice colors.
I agree with Fabs about the aperture.

Hi Nancy,
Soft feel isn't for all tastes but I find I like it....although may go for a bit softer in the UR corner. I am a little puzzled by the front foot in the air but all in all the overall mood and feel are very appealing.

Thanks Fabs, Thomas and Roman for your comments. I am looking for a little different look, especially for my Art Shows. A bit of variety I suppose, with some artistic imput. I was not actually perfectly parallel, due to BG, so the rear wing would of been softer had I used a wider aperture.

Nancy, I also feel the URC and LLC aren't quite "balanced." I'd either add a little white vignette up at the top frame or reduce a little off the bottom.

Also, and this is pretty minor, the front facing eye could probably use a little selective sharpening. It feels a tad bit OOF to me.

Otherwise an exceptionally beautiful image...you're sure catching on to this!

Quite lovely. I love the soft colors and the dreamy feel. On the other hand, the butterfly is perfectly sharp.
