This is one from last year that I just processed. I sat on the beach to let the birds get comfortable. For this one I even had to remove the TC and it is almost full frame. In an ideal world there would have been a bit more head turn toward me.

I think the profile works nicely in this one. I love that surf.

Axel:

Very nice. The slightly dappled light worked well here, with the bright spot on base of mandible and eye. The blurred surf adds a sense of the action of the waves.

Excellent exposure, sharpness.

Axel, This one of the best OC images I have seen. Amazingly sharp, and the detail in this, is simply incredible. Love the pastel colour of the surf, and his food a bonus. Congrats on an outstanding image.

Axel,

I agree with Stuart this has incredible detail. Why did you not process this excellent image earlier?

Thanks, Charlie! I made quite a few images of oystercatchers that day that I liked even better, such as a parent feeding a juvenile bird: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/album.php?albumid=9&pictureid=112

Great shot well done. Like the comp and light and you did great with the exposure. Must say they better looking than the ones we have. Ours are just black feathers and red beaks and legs.
Well done

Love this one with the perfect EXP and the little tidbit. I do disagree with you however; the head angle is perfect for me....
