I think. Taken this morning near Boundary Bay, BC. 50D, 400/5.6 at 5.6, Av, 1/3000, EC+1, ISO800, Flash and BB. I did the usual things as well as touch up the bill and fixed the eye from the flash. A bit of a crop.

Great pose, and detail, I like the exposure and the colors although I little bit warmer might work as well, nice comp too. Congratulations!

Lovely wing pose and feather details, Dave. I might reduce the size of the catchlight and flash reflections form the water droplets.

I like the wing position, fanned tail and eye contact and agree regarding the size of the catchlight.

Dave, Beautiful pose w/ open wings and fanned tail. Very nicely done.

Yes, the catchlight definitely needs to be tamed as it looks like there is a pin-hole right through to the other side ;-) Good wing spread, and I love the translucence of the flight and tail feathers.

Thanks for the comments. I wondered about the bit of red starting to show in the clouds and perhaps that is why pic is a bit cool.
I appreciate the comment about the water drops. I had noticed them, did nothing, and did not think of the effect of flash.
The consensus is eye is too hot. Duly noted.
Tks Again, Dave

Dave, very similar to our Mallards and yellowbills. I like the angle of flight, detail, and the wingspread. I would maybe have darkened the BG a tad.

Loverly wing position and pose. Ditto the eye highlight.
