Very cool! I like the composition a lot, the way the white plumage runs in the same direction as his beak and off out of the frame. Nice study in depth of field.

I hope all the birds still look this good in March! Great use of DoF on this one!

I love the DOF perspective! I just have a problem with the idea of breeding plumage. We are getting an ice storm today!

Hi Alfred!
I love the DOF and I love the beautiful colors ... and that great stare!
Please help me (learn) here ... my eyes seem to be drawn to the brightest area, to the lower left 1/3, that also seems to be one of the most high contrast ... and that also happens to be near a so-called "power point". I'm thinking that it might help to try bringing down the brightness to the areas on that left side? Thank you, and I would be interested to hear your comments.

Very interesting composition Al, and the shallow DOF really accentuates those beautiful big blue eyes!! Well seen!!

Hi Brian You are right about that bright area Up until you pointed it did not bother me much Now it does To tone it down I would have to clone something into the area Don't think levels/curves would have much effect It would turn out sort of grayish
Very good observation and agree with you !!!!
