Thanks.

As far as the pose, this big guy was just jumping off the
tree tops.

As James was guiding his boat, the one that amazed me
most about these birds and the Herons, is the fact that
a bird this size can so gracefully stand on these tree tops.

Jim,

The boat is great, but the best thing about all of this is James
and Blake themselves. Without a doubt, I'd consider both of
them a friend after just being around them for 10 minutes. It
might have been five minutes if they used Canon though :D

For those that might be wondering about our little jabs at each
others choice for camera...

Our first day together it was Canon users 3 and Nikon users 2
(actually, it was 1.5 cause the one Nikon guy thought the red
light meant not to shoot...and he wondered why his shots were
so out of focus...after 3 days of shooting....anyhoo).

The second day and third day I was out numbered. It was Canon
User 1 and Nikon Users 3 (James, Blake and Rusty).

For those two days, all they would do is talk about Nikon. Nikon
this...Nikon that...trying to get me to convert. Of course, I'm smarter
than I look.

Then again....James and Blake are making money on these tours
in sunny Florida, while the smart one here is in Cleveland.

That means there could be some gear swapping going on, if the need (or want) be :D

Great image, Doug. Very dynamic pose.

Great pose and details. I might add a bit canvas at the left.

Yeah, I do that alot in my cropping when it comes to posting. The original
image does have more blue on the left (and trees on the right).

Doug,
Outstanding image.
If you wanted a tight crop, this would be it. IMO a looser crop, rather than just canvas left would work as well.

Do you remember why the legs are white?

James AKA Darth.

High temps and a result of excreting frequently, which cools the bird.
