This photo of the Roseate Spoonbill was taken at the Viera Wetlands on May 15, 2009 in the morning. I used a Nikon D200, with a Nikon 500mm f4 manual focus lens to capture this image. The camera setting were;
ISO - 400
Speed - 1/1250 second
f-stop - f8
I used Photoshop CS3 to remove the cluttered BG, to improve the composition, and tonal range,

I would appreciate critiques on this photo. Thanks ADubin

looks nice to me Arnold, still see a bit of cloning residue near left foot.
Comp wise, I think it's a bit cramped in the frame, maybe more room in front and a bit below too.
Might work on the eye/head a bit to make it a bit sharper.....all color in general looks good to me.
All comments only IMO

congrats on a nice wings up image

Arnold.....

I applaud anyone who can use a MF 500 :)

Colors and tonality look fine to me.

I do see the little spot by the feet which Dave refers to and is likely just leftover / missed from your clean up process.

While I do like the wing structure and the view of the under wing detail, the head angle kinda puts a damper as there is no real contact with the subject due to this.

I envy you...I haven't been to Vierra in 2 darned years :(

I want to thank both Jim Fenton and Dave Phillips for their critiques. Based on their feedback I made further enhancements to the Roseate Spoonbill photo. I hope everybody can see an improvement in it.
