Great action here, with wing position and open bill. Colors are vivid. The color of the eye is great, but it looks like it could stand just a bit of sharpening.

I think the composition is right for this pose.

Nice placement here Alexander. Too bad the light is slighly on the harsh side. A most interesting pose...and although it might have been better if the beak and the wing would not have been merged and the fact that I'm not a big fan of these frog perspective flightshots, I do think you pulled off a nice one here.

Sure do love the open-beak pose! Great eye contact and sharpness. I'd like to see some separation between the beak and the far wing. Also the whites seem a little hot adjacent to the beak.

While I too wish for more of a side view this is one spectacular image. Love the wing position, the open bill, and the great colors. With all due respect for Jasper the light looks rather nice to me.

I really like the action here and the expression in the eye! In this case the slow shutterspeed of 1/1000 worked becasue the body was relatively stationary, creating a pleasing wing blur. THe whites seem a tad hot on my monitor?
