Not the sharpest kid on the block, but one of my first attempts with flash.
CC appreciated.
Unfortunately I cannot find the flash info in the EXIF, metadata etc:o I'm using CS3 Bridge & PS.
I believe I used -1 fill flash but not 100% sure.
Can somebody please help with this one:)
How can you get all of the EXIF in PS or otherwise?

Nikon D80 300mm Hand-held, f/4, 1/640
Matrix AP, ISO400,
Flash SB800 @-1
(Quite dark overcast and shooting against sky BG
so I used a bit brighter flash even though the bird is white
Opinions and critique of the flash usage appreciated :))

Hi - with flash your best starting point is to make sure that you have the ambient exposure correct - IE: if the flash does not fire your exposure is still correct - Looks a little under here and the histogram confirms that.
So get your ambient exposure correct and then add your flash (Unless you are using flash as the main light source) I assume you were just wanting to add some fill flash.
I made a couple of changes for you. Adjusted the levels and sharpened the bird.

The oof Branch in the foreground is a little distracting.

Keep em coming :)

Ilija I like it a lot Just a little dark and the re post just nailed it !!! Would also crop a little from the bottom since the bird is looking up to give more room up top !!!

btw the info should be showing?

I like the base composition and capture, it looks a bit under exposed, Mr. Peters' repost puts it over the top...looking forward to your next one...
