Oxymoron or what?

This image was made with my Canon 30D and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens with a Canon 500D close-up filter/lens; handheld while lying in the wet dirt (that would be mud!).

1/50 sec @ f/18; ISO 800; -1 EV; Focal length 200mm; Natural light

Ah, the call of the mud. Thanks for getting down and dirty for this image. It looks like you couldn't avoid a little merging of the tips of the blooms, either the left two or right two would have a little merge. Given that nitpick, I really like the comp and love the OOF BG. ON my monitor, the hightlights are a little hot, but not too much. Pretty image!

Hi Ed...I like your choice of composition. I think the backround is nicely muted and the flowers are on a nice diagonal. The merge doesn't bother me in this case but would have preferred the left flower to be as sharp as the other two. Good eye!

I agree with Bruce and Dave's comments - the lack of sharpness on the front flower is the biggest drawback for me but it certainly doesn't keep me from liking this image. It works...no doubt about it. I think it would be a bit stronger with more sharpness but it's nice this way as well.

White bluebells...who'd a guessed?

This is really beautiful! Love the angled stem and stairstep flowers against even BG. Ido see what others mean by the bit of out of focus in the front flower. I think the image is amazingly clear, especially for hand-held and 1/50 sec.
