This is another from the rookery I found last weekend.
Thousands of these egrets there.

400mm f/5.6L w/1.4X tc, ISO 400, 1/400, f/8, +.33EV on tripod
RAW conversion via Capture One, 2 obscuring branches removed
Thanks for looking and opportunity to share for c/c

I love those feathers Dave! The bird is sharp and well posed with a good head angle and feather detail. The BG doesn't work for me. I find it mildly distracting. I would be interested to hear other opinions on this. Good job on your exposure and placement of the bird in the frame.

Great plumage display. He must have the nest going because the purple is almost gone from the lore. The BG can use some blurring and burning if it fits your ethic. Burning the outlines of the frame darker will keep the viewer's eye in.

Hi Dave.
I love the show of the fine feathers. Good eye contact. ditto bluring and toning down of the BG.

I like them both. Love the ruffle and the fact that you kept the eye sharp. Any spoonbills at the rookery?

thanks you sir...we don't get many spoonbills in NW Louisiana.
This place was full of cattle egret, great egret, green heron and little blue heron
