Sweet light!

Lovely species, thanks for sharing it.

Great head position, and sharpness. I only wish the BG colors would be more uniform, but this is fine. I may also suggest a little crop from right.

Keep them coming.

Great find and good details and exposure control. Maybe a bit NR on the BG.

Charlie:

Very interesting perch, and I actually like the green backdrop for the bird, with lighter surrounding area.

I do find the image too bright for my taste. I made a small curves adjustment.

See what you think.

Thanks for sharing!

nice details....I find the perch very interesting.

IMO, Randy's repost is a subtle, but noticeable improvement

Thanks folks! I agree it could use a little curves adjustment.

Very nice catch, Charlie, if a little bright. I'm glad you had a good time in Texas. Will be looking forward to more.

Interesting perch, and like the pose. Good feather detail captured in this.

Very nice image Charlie. I have them all over my property in Texas. Maybe someday I'll get to stop working long enough where I can attempt to get a capture as sweet as yours.

While I feel the curves adjustment worked well here, I wonder if a Shadow/Highlight adjustment might have been just as good or better. You've got a great base image here, Photoshop allows several ways to skin a cat.

Heck, I love the ORIG and the repost. A crop from the right should be no more than half the distance from the frame edge to the start of the stem in the LRC. So sharp with lovely rich colors. The head angle is almost perfect--a fraction more towards you would have been fantastic. All in all, I would be proud to have this one in my collection.
