Hi all,
a western spinebill in south west Western Australia.

not sure what i think of the two twigs on the right- i initially found them distracting, but they offer some habitat context so i left them in.
f 7.1, 1/400sec, ISO 100 and 400mm. No crop, and i removed a couple of twigs from the lower left.
thanks for your comments.

Agree that the sticks are a little distracting. The image is underexposed; I would definitely push the exposure further to the right. I would also crop some from the left side of the frame. Lastly, I would avoid using ISO 100 for most bird photography, particularly on a 5D where ISO 400 should be essentially noise-free. You can use the extra light sensitivity for a faster shutter speed or more DOF.

Beautiful bird and good eye contact. I agree that positive EC would have helped here and Doug gave you good advice on the other techs as well. The bird looks a bit soft on my monitor, is it a heavy crop?

Hi - I made some real quick adjustments for you - adjusted the levels a little - added some sharpening - lightened the eye and sharpened.

Look any better to you?
