This was taken towards the end of last year. I remember the morning well, as it was overcast. It was sunrise, and for only a short period of around 10 minutes the sun came out. It produced sweet light against the overcast sky. The BG is that overcast sky. After this, I went home, as the sun didnt come out again.

Superb light and composition Stuart. I love those kind of dark skies when there is intense light in the foreground, like in this case. Fantastic details on the ibis and very good timing. Very well done

Very nice wing position and sharpness, great EXP in soft light and great placing in the frame.

Nice one Stu. As said before, great light, very nice composition and superb detail, especially on it's neck and face.

I really like the near wing details. Of course the light has a good feel to it. I think the comp or placement in the frame woks well too. It looks a lot like a cross between the Ibis and Wood Stork over here. Thanks for sharing this one.

Absolutely stunning! The exposure and light brought out the details on the feather. The bird stands out on the dark background. Thanks for sharing.

Super! Love the beautifully lit bird against the gloomy sky BG. I like the subject placement too, but would probably still add a tiny bit of canvas up there.

I remember the morning well Stu. Great light for a very short period but well worth the time.
