“Vanity Fair”

These beautiful ladies were painted with a Nikon D200, using a Lensbaby Composer, with a +10 macro lens attachment.

Image solution:
focal length about +/- 50mm / exposure mode @ manual / combination of in camera matrix metering and hand held spot meter, sampling three anchor points for even light distribution. / manual insert aperture disk of f/11 / shutter speed @ 1/1000sec. / ISO @ 200 / white balance @ manual, custom profile using an expo disk for color calibration / color space @ sRGB / AF - mode @ manual / lighting solution - used two speedlights with attached diffusers ; each @ 45 degree angles; speedlights were powered down to 1/4 lumen burst on manual mode, each one behind additional diffuser panels. A 24" soft box was positioned at 90 degrees from the top to achieve the soft glow. / exposure comp @ -1.7EV / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +1 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - tripod assist - using macro focusing rail / electronic trigger release /

Comments greatly appreciated...

Incredible DOF Gus. I love everything about this image: BG and FG contrast and the sharpness of flowers. :)

Hi Gus, your very effective use of dof really makes this one for me; I tried macro for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to more. You certainly are a "macro-expert."
