Dave:

An amazing display of subtle colors in this guy. Sharp, well composed, nice head angle. Very fine.

Wonderful soft light. Excellent detail in the blacks. There does appear to be a magenta cast on the perch, but it doesn't bother me.

I love taking a common bird and showing them in a special way!!

Cheers

Randy

The great light brings out nice detail in the bird. I really like the green stuff on the beak and the not-quite-high-key BG. Good job!

Thanks for comments.

Randy, I saw that magenta in the perch and wasn't
quite sure why....there are strange colors in the
swampy habitats....thanks

Doug that bg is all duckweed in basically low light
and overexposed a good bit....thanks

Alfred, always appreciate your input sir...thanks

Hi Dave!

I love all the subtle dark shades! I never realized they had so much blue, and it goes well with the yellow eye, which really pops.

Very very nice. This a tough black bird to get properly.
Even the perch is just excellent. I wish the beak was clean
but does not bother too much.
Congrats!

Amazing colours captured on him, and he really stands out against the clear BG.

I like the pose, eye contact and varied tones in the plumage.
