I do not think this owl is Native in my area but it sure was different from any owl I have ever seen.

Exif is:

AV f/5.6
shutter 1/160
ISO 800
1DMKIII
600mm f/4 IS

Hmm...looks like there's something oof in the foreground between the lens and the owl. I would also do something about the bright areas on the leaves cuz they're...too bright :) I like the yellow eyes that really stand out from the dark feathers. Feathers details look good to me and I can even see some details in the darker areas of the owl.

I like the horizontal reflections in the owls eyes -- wonder what hes looking at.

Great eye contact with a full on stare straight back at you. Desmond has it spot on regarding something interfering over the top of the chest area. I would try and tone down the highlights on the leaves in the FG too.

Beautiful bird and eye contact. I'm not familiar with the species and can't tell if it is native. Where do you make this image? Adding to the other comments, the whites have a slight blue cast, raising the color temperature would help. I would run NR on the BG and it seems there was some OOF leave between you and the bird.
