With its shear abundance, and sentimental favorite "sign of spring" status symbol (at least up here) it's funny how we don't see too many posts of these guys in the forums. Here's one that I had the chance to photograph a couple weeks ago. I just lay on the ground and hoped one of them would approach and pose nicely during there foraging rounds. What I like best about this one is the natural surroundings it was in - rather than on a well manicured lawn or park grass.

Canon 40D + 100-400 @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/7.1, ISO 500, +0.3 EC, handheld, natural light, slight crop for composition.

A very nice image of a handsome bird. I like the pose, colors, and DOF line you've got.

Brilliant low angle Daniel, and love the DOF in this. Superb head turn, nice and sharp, in stunning light. I really like the colours in this too. Congrats on a great image.

Like the low angle and the fact that the surrounding colors compliment the robin.
