Hi There

Another shot from my usual haunt of the Hawk Conservancy Trust in the UK. This time of one of the Black Kites that they display catching food on the wing. I was trying out my MKIII after the AF adjust recall and after dialling in +6 on my 500 F4 all seems well.

John:

Magnificent dorsal view, with fine detail in wings, sharp, well exposed.
The vertical composition works well here, might give him a bit more canvas to the left, but excellent as presented.

No wonder you like to hang out there!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Wow, killer pose, perfect exposure too!! I love the curled primaries, and although the bird's body is angled slightly away from us the look-back head angle is just superb. I could do with a bit of extra room around it (and to a higher degree left and bottom). All around well done high-key image.

Lovely banking pose and eye contact. I wish we could see the far side of its crown but being that bright and the BG being washed out, probably too much to ask. Congrats!

Great flight shot. I like the wings and the white background. Really brings out the bird.

Love the details and happy to see that the black kite turned its head towards your direction :)

I realy like the pose and feather detail captured here. The composition and eye contact makes this shot. You did well with your DOF at f4.5.
