Long-billed Curlew
Little Estero Lagoon - April 5, 2009

Canon 500mm f/4, 1.4x TC, Canon 5D MII
1/640, f/7.1, ISO 800
Cropped to 19MP of goodness!

When I got down on my stomach in one very particular spot I could take advantage of a cloud that was reflecting golden light onto the beach before direct sunlight. This is a Long-billed Curlew with a very impressive bill!

Great angle, soft light and details. I might put the bird a tad higher in the frame.

I like the low angle in this, and you have captured the perfect pose. I also like the pastel colours in the BG. Congrats on a great image Judd.

Awesome colours Judd, I like the different layers to the BG. I also like the slightly drooped wing, and great low angle. As posted I'm wishing the faint catchlight was more prominent.

Great shot. Great comp exposure and comp. Low angle makes this for me
