Add Canvas

Hi

I occasionally see critiques suggesting ' add canvas to the one side'. Does this mean add some background to a side of the picture where there was none before? ie. it was not cropped off, but that was how the original was framed ? If that is what that means, is there a way to do that with the NIkon program Capture NX2?

Ray,

If the image is not full frame then you can simply select a wider crop. If you don't have more room then you can add canvas in PS. You can check this thread in 'educational resources': http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=834
