I accidentally caught this bright male just as it left a feeder. With my uninformed PS cloning, I dropped out the background, which was already quite dark.

Canon 20D, 1/250 @f/9, ISO 100, 70-200 +2x ext., focal length this shot 220mm, flash with Beamer.

Very dramatic, Joel! Since it's balck and easy to do, I would add abit more room in front of the bird.

I might say that you need to spend a bit more time fixing the area between each of the Caudal (tail) feathers. I like how surreal the image is though! A male Cardinal flying through the black abyss... Neat!

Like I told my friend, "birds gotta fly". If you wait long enough you'll catch it. Great image. Love the eye and the tail blur. Cool.
