I saw them doing that at Anhinga back in February. the rangers were running them off. I hear they will strip a cars rubber in minutes. And it can be expensive.

yep not looking forward to the cost and the time to fix it. I hope it doesn't leak if it rains in the interim....

I remember seeing posted warning signs by the boat launches at this
one particular spot James Shadle took me and Rusty Ray.

Being from Cleveland and never seeing anything like this before, I thought
it was funny. But like you pointed out, they really do go after that stuff.

Michael,
Please post this in the SE Regional forum also.
The Vultures have been a problem for years. At times (like this) worse than others.
Thanks for sharing.

I saw one take the entire rubber strip around the windshield of a Suburban ... then it took off down the parking lot with others in hot pursuit !!!

This is new to me. Can we put anything on the weather stripping to prevent this? Is the behavior related to any other environmental or external cause?

Quick tip... It happened to me when I was driving my Grandpa's car, and his insurance covered it!

Nothing a good smearing of Tabasco sauce would not fix! :)

On a serious note, this is very worrying. Is there any way to discourage the vultures?

Anyone hear about turkey vultures doing this? What about at Myakka State Park? I have never seen so many vultures (both variety) than at Myakka. The skies can turn dark and they cover the sky by the thousands.
