Great Blue with Sea Trout

As far as I know this is a sea trout that this Great Blue Heron has, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Indian River along the shore of Orchid Island May 2005. Just before sunset. Nikon Coolpix 8800, hand-held.

It is a spotted sea trout for sure !!!! Excellent catch by the GBH\

Would try to work my way around and get a better light angle Also trying a few lower With your coolpix try using a low ISO and not underexposing Will go a long ways to keep noise away !!!!

It is a spotted sea trout, and one most fisherman would be happy happy to catch! The light angle was not the best, but I realize that you probably couldn't get out into the river to have the sun at your back before he swallowed his big catch.

Thanks for the insights! I appreciate them. I certainly was tempted to wade right in. :) Didn't wanna interfere though. I waited around and watched the gbh devour his catch as the light faded.

You could have tried and go lower for a better angle?
